How many steps?

Today I am wearing a pedometer to see how many steps I take in a day. I am mostly just curious. I was watching Oprah last night and Dr. Oz was on saying that people should aim for 10,000 steps a day but start out with 3,000 or so. I walk a lot normally so I am curious. Now, I don’t really listen to much this guy has to say because I remember last year I watched an episode of Oprah where he was promoting products with artificial sweetener and hfcp. Anyways it got me thinking so I’ll let you know later how many it came out to!

Mondays breakfast. I thought I would mix it up for you all and show you what I was reading while eating breakfast.




and look what I found in our fridge….




So I made a yogurt bowl with them. This included: a banana, a chiobani greek yogurt, golden raspberries, strawberries, a sprinkle of natures path peanut butter granola, and half a cup of Kashi go lean crunch honey almond flax. 




Then last night my sister and I made an ice cream cake!


I will try to remember everything we included. The bottom crush is crushed girl scout cookies (some kind that is shaped like flowers), then a layer of Gril Scout Samoas Edy’s light slow churned, then a layer of crunched up thin mint cookies, chocolate chips and marshmellows, next was a layer of Edy’s loaded chocolate chip cookie dough and last but not least the topping you see!


Today as a snack I had a smoothie. It included: 1/2 cup blueberries, 1 cup raspberries, and a Stoneyfeild farm low fat vanilla yogurt.




I know this is a food blog but it is my blog so I can post whatever. Here is some of the art I did today. I did two drawings and made three cards.

I have a friend coming to stay with me from tonight until January 4. I might not be able to post much or take pictures of my food but I will try. We are also going to NYC for a few days so I will probably have some good eats/pictures from there. Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

I worked out today at a hotel gym near my house which my parents are spending the night in. The gym is really nice and they have a nice pool as well. I ended up running two miles and then swimming for twenty minutes or so.

almond butter,a banana, and blackberries.

I made these tonight and they are pretty healthy they include: whole wheat flour, agave, chocolate chips, an egg, dried cranberries,  unsweetened dried coconuts, and other things like baking soda and cinnamon. They are almost vegan aside from the egg and chocolate chips but I think they would be fine without the egg and you could use carob chips if you like. I could post the recipe if anyone is interested.


Also add 2 apples and a bag of 100 calorie popcorn to the eats today.

Home Sweet Home1

I am home now finally! Sorry I haven’t been posting much but I was busy studying slash taking finals and saying goodbye to friends. I wont see any of my friends from school for nine months which I am pretty sad about. Anyways I got home late last night and woke up very late today. I just bummed around the house all day pretty much. I cleans my room and unpacked, went for a run, and went to the grocery store. I only went on a two mile run but it was one of the best runs i’ve ever done on that loop! As for my plans for tomorrow, I have none thus far. I may be babysitting but if not I will probably be heading over to whole foods.


For breakfast I had a bowl of oats made with:

  • 1/2 cup oats, water, and milk
  • cinnamon
  • a whole banana
  • some walnuts
  • about 6 strawberries

After my run I have some carrots and cherry tomatos.


For dinner I had these Trader Joe’s chickenless nuggets.


With this yummy bbq sauce…


I had six of the nuggets and on the side I had rissoto. 



About an hour after dinner I had an apple and then a waffle with dark chocolate dreams peanut butter and some Trader Joe’s dark chocolate covered blueberries with a mug of tea.

I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I am finally done with finals! Sorry for the lack of posting but I have been pretty much living in the library. I am leaving on Sunday to go home.  Here are some random pictures of snacks and meals from the past few days.

For dinner I had two slices of veggie pizza. On it was tomatos, mushrooms, zucchini, and I think thats it?

First Final

December 10, 2008

So today I have my first final of the week at 3:00. I’m working from 12:00-2:00 (I work in a library so I can pretty much just do whatever I want which today would be studying). I have a short break so I will most likely grab a salad or a veggie sub for lunch which I will try to remember to take a picture of. Sorry I did not photograph my breakfast this morning but it seemed pretty boring because I had the same oatmeal I have been having except I had some blackberries on top. I have been trying to eat up the food in my apartment because I’m moving out on Sunday :(. I’ve been having those flavored oatmeal packets which are definitely not my favorite because they are way too sweet for my taste in the morning. Today I had a Quaker Simple Harvest one which is good but not a lot of oats because they put nuts in it. I like them but I already put my own nuts on top. Oh well, I guess I’ll know just to not buy flavored oatmeal packets because they are usually an impulse purchase. Anyways, I was going to go running before work but I though laying in bed sounds much more appealing :). I might go after my final depending on what time I get out because it really isn’t safe to run in the dark around here.
