First Final

December 10, 2008

So today I have my first final of the week at 3:00. I’m working from 12:00-2:00 (I work in a library so I can pretty much just do whatever I want which today would be studying). I have a short break so I will most likely grab a salad or a veggie sub for lunch which I will try to remember to take a picture of. Sorry I did not photograph my breakfast this morning but it seemed pretty boring because I had the same oatmeal I have been having except I had some blackberries on top. I have been trying to eat up the food in my apartment because I’m moving out on Sunday :(. I’ve been having those flavored oatmeal packets which are definitely not my favorite because they are way too sweet for my taste in the morning. Today I had a Quaker Simple Harvest one which is good but not a lot of oats because they put nuts in it. I like them but I already put my own nuts on top. Oh well, I guess I’ll know just to not buy flavored oatmeal packets because they are usually an impulse purchase. Anyways, I was going to go running before work but I though laying in bed sounds much more appealing :). I might go after my final depending on what time I get out because it really isn’t safe to run in the dark around here.

Study Day

Today is a “study day” before finals at my school so no class or tests today. I’ve been getting everything together to leave like shipping some boxes home etc.

a large banana, raisins, pecans, and slivered amonds.

Two down

I just finished two tests! Glad to have those over now I have a lot less stress. I still have three finals next week and a paper to write but I have a lot of time so I’m not too worried about it. This morning I woke up early to study for a bit before my first test and I had some oatmeal with pomegranate seeds yum! I’ve never had pomegranate seeds on oatmeal and I definitely liked it a lot. I still have more seeds left so you may be seeing more of this combo.

Also how do you all eat your oatmeal? I always eat mine from one size of the bowl to the other like this…

I had a short break in between classes so I sat in the garden and had a Luna Tea Cake with my water bottle. I carry this water bottle to every class throughout to day.

After my tests I had lunch with a friend in my school dining hall. I had a salad which included: lettuce, red bell peppers, carrots, cucumber, chick peas, and about a tbsp balsamic dressing.

 

About an hour later I was hungry so I had a Western Alternative Bagel with pumpkin butter and peanut butter and a yoplait light raspberry yogurt with pomegranate seeds.

After lunch I studied for a bit then had a clif bar for a snack. This is the first time I tried this flavor and although it wasn’t bad it wasn’t that good either. It was okay but I would say if I was going to have a clif bar, there are other flavors I would chose before this one.

After my snack I walked to the grocery store. It was a total of 3 miles which was quite the workout on the way back with all the groceries. At the store I got:

3 medjool dates

5 bananas

half gallon of light Silk soymilk

4 yogurt

honey wheat bagel (they are mini. the brand is western alternative bagels)

pomegranate 

 

After I got back I went for a 3 mile run before dinner. So tonight I decided to get the seeds out of my pomegranate and my roommate taught me a really good trick to get the seeds out. You cut off the little stem of it first. Then you slice it into four quarters. Get a bowl of water. Break up and pomegranate best you can and put it in the water. The seeds will sink and everything else will float. This made it much easier to get all the seeds out!

 

Oh and I was in the library for 3 hours tonight hence the title of the post!

I got one of my presentations down and I have one more to go on Monday ugh! The one I had went well though and the other shouldn’t be too bad. Today for lunch I had peanut butter and pumpkin butter open faced. I also had an apple on the side, I think it was gala. I’m going to walk to the store later to pick up a couple of things and maybe work out if I have time. I’m working tonight from 6:00-8:00 and I definitely don’t want to have to work out after.

Back to the grind

Second day of classes being back from break. I have two presentations today. One for my psychology of gender class and one for my developmental psychology class. Neither of them are too serious so I don’t think it is a big deal. I actually got about 10 hours of sleep last night though! Todays bowl of oats included:

1/2 cup oats, water, and silk soymilk

a banana

walnuts

raisins

pumpkin butter

It’s the too pretty looking though sorry. I also had coffee of course. It looks really milky today. Maybe I made it weak or put a lot of milk in it? Oh and yes I did eat at my desk today. I do have a kitchen but I wanted to read some blogs while I ate this morning since I had some extra time!

 

Also does anyone know how to edit the title of the blog?

Ugh I just wrote a long post and it got deleted! Anyways I told you I would post some pictures soon. Tonight for dinner I had tofu with vegetables and about 1/4 cup cooked white rice. I also had a small salad with spinach, carrots, cucumber, broccoli, dried cranberries, and a little balsamic dressing. For dessert I had Edy’s Loaded peanut butter cup ice cream with some fall colored dark chocolate M&M’s on top. Also here are some pictures of some Thanksgiving desserts.
